Recession

Isn’t it funny how despite being in the middle of what some would call a recession/credit crunch that I keep getting flyers through my letter box for credit cards. Why on earth would I want to get a credit card/loan or mortgage when people are more or less on the breadline and living in their cars. Apparently people in America are in such financial turmoil that they have missed payments on their mortgage and having to live in their cars. A girl like me is easily swayed too. I got a second credit card in April and one main reason that I picked that bank was because not only was there a good offer on the table but they also had pink credit cards! How Cher in Clueless, Elle in Legally Blonde! Fabulous, I just had to have this slotted in my purse.
But they key is to make your payments on time and always pay more than the statement says. So I am just baffed as to why they keep sending me credit card applications in the post because Lord knows I have missed a few payments.

Credit crunch, the cereal?

Apparently they are going to start producing a cereal called Credit Crunch, heck if it means I’ll be saving money on food I might just purchase it. I’ve noticed the price of Bran Flakes creeping up! I even noticed that Surf went from £1.89 to £1.99 in the shop on the high street. When I was in Asda last week, the yellow one was £1.50 I picked that up straight away, despite it not being my usual scent. But as long as my clothes are clean, that’s all that matters.
Anywho, I digress, the credit crunch is biting me hard. No longer am I up for a rave, if it isn’t popping I am not there and if it’s more than a tenner forget it. That right there is petrol/oyster/food/clothes money. Raving is not the one anymore, even a free rave just puts me off. That’s because I have found the perfect rave, ‘My house’. It’s a new one- with free entry, free food and drink and air con is not an issue.

So with recent financial times I am contemplating getting an upgrade on my car next month. But after reading this: http://www.onlyfinance.com/Car-Insurance-News/12754468-Credit-crunch-attacks-car-sales.aspx
I am thinking it isn’t worth it, I have an oyster card and a car that works so why bother?

Then I had the thought that what with car insurance prices going up, is it worth it? I am paying about £55 and compared to the £91 when I first started driving, this is good. But what about getting an 09 plate will it cost more yada yada yada.

But back to my original point, the credit crunch. I would just like to say no matter what the current financial state of the economy is you will never catch me slipping. Some people are walking the streets and slacking on vital things like ermmm deodorant. Never that.

The credit crunch may be biting hard but my tip? Never slack!
